Support the GIF

Cal Online Giving Form

Your generous support can help us enhance our geospatial support for all within the GIF community. Below are some guidelines as to what a gift to the GIF could help provide. Please use the Cal Online Giving Form to make a donation, or contact the GIF's Manager for more information.

Workshop Scholarships

The GIF currently maintains the Undergraduates Research Program, thanks to a generous gift from GIF advisory board member Larry Pettinger, where students who wish to take a GIF workshop can apply for funds to cover their costs.  Further funding at this level will enable us to increase the number of awards that may be offered, and continue to bring in new students. Workshops are currently available at a rate of $84 per student, per class.

Image Data purchase scholarship

Purchase of high resolution satellite image data (Quickbird, GeoEye, Spot) can range from $100 to $3000 per image depending on the date of acquisition. Giving students the ability to access up-to-date high resolution images will enable them to improve upon their research, making it more relevant to current challenges. A gift at this level can help to establish a data scholarship fund, so that students may apply for funds to purchase relevant data.
